Some years ago I heard that Honda was not a car manufacturer, but in fact they were an engine maker and the car was merely packaging.
I wonder if the same logic can be applied to Tesla. Perhaps Tesla is a vehicle for solar energy storage and grid optimization, and the vehicles are a byproduct. In that light, this acquisition makes real sense.
